They both appear on this list because the s500e and s550e have identical drying functions (the only difference between the two is an auto open/close seat and lid on the s550e). While the majority of bidet seat dryers will fully dry a user post-wash in the 2-4 minute range, the TOTO washlets’ superior drying power gets the job done in about 1 – 1.5 minutes.
The warm air dryers on these TOTO bidet seats set themselves apart with superior air volume and pressure. While we don’t have any statistics to back up our observations, the dryers feel noticeably stronger than other models. Also, the amount of air that flows through the dryer vent feels considerably larger as well. The s500e and s550e washlet dryers have 5 air temperature settings ranging from room temperature to very toasty. Level 4 felt the most comfortable when used immediately post-wash and level 2 felt better when almost dry.

The Alpha JX bidet toilet seat is another strong all-around performer. It features a sleek, slim design, tankless water heating, and an LED night light. Its warm air dryer is similar in performance to the Brondell Swash 1400, but with a bit more reach and a slightly faster drying cycle.
The Alpha JX seat’s dryer can be adjusted to 5 different temperature levels. At level 4, it took about 1.5-2 minutes for us to feel fully dried after washing – very similar results as the Swash 1400.

The Brondell Swash 1400 bidet toilet seat is one of the best values on the market. It has high quality construction and its operation is seamless and reliable. While not as robust as the TOTO washlets above, the drying function on the Brondell Swash 1400 is superior to almost every other bidet seat available. The strength of the air stream is solid and the volume is enough to fully dry a user post-wash in about 1.5 – 2 minutes.
The Swash 1400 features 4 drying temperatures indicated by a colored light on the remote control. It can blow at room temperature (light off), or be adjusted to 3 levels of warmth (blue, purple, red with red being the hottest). We felt that the purple setting was most comfortable during testing.
Conclusion
As a whole, bidet toilet seat warm air dryers are not the most effective functions. They generally feel like hair blow dryers on a low setting and it will take a few minutes before the user are fully dried. That being said, some models definitely perform better than orders and can cut drying time down considerably. If price is no issue, the TOTO s500e and TOTO s550e washlets have the best dryers on the market. If price is a factor, the dryers on either the Brondell Swash 1400 or the Alpha JX bidet seats are very effective.
