Do I Still Need to Wipe After Using a Bidet?

A common question we hear a lot at BidetKing is whether using a bidet completely eliminates the need to wipe after relieving oneself. The easy answer is: it can, but it depends on your needs. There are a few factors that come into play when determining whether or not a bidet seat will fully clean and dry you or if you will still need to wipe a little after using it.

Major factors to consider when determining if a bidet will fully clean you is your size, weight, and how you are positioned/seated on your bidet. The larger the user, height and weight wise, the more likely you will have to use a couple sheets of toilet paper after using your bidet to fully clean yourself. Of course, using multiple wash cycles can help a larger user achieve a more complete clean. Using a bidet with a strong spray pressure can also help with achieving a more complete clean.

Some users may also use a little bit of toilet paper to dab dry after using their bidet. You can however use the bidets built in warm air dryer to fully dry you, eliminating the need to use toilet paper to dab dry. You might need to be a little patient with the air dryer as achieving a fully dry bottom can take around 3 minutes.

Lastly, your seated position on the bidet seat itself can impact how well a bidet will clean you. Some users sit more forward than others and this can affect your bidet's water spray performance. Sitting further back will ensure that the water spray reaches where it needs to reach.

Also, utilizing the nozzle oscillation feature can help with fully cleaning you. The nozzle oscillation moves the bidet nozzle forward and back while the wash cycle is activated to ensure a wider area is covered. Like with any device, the more you use your bidet the more comfortable you will become with it and the more you will know how to best use it to most effectively clean you.

For the best results, we recommend a bidet with a strong spray pressure. Here are a list of bidets that have a sufficiently strong spray pressure:
