As you have probably heard by now, Brondell has released their new flagship bidet toilet seat: The Brondell Swash 1400. It has a couple of new nifty features and improvements over its predecessor The Brondell Swash 1000. This article will walk you through some of the major differences between these two bidet seats.
Design
Aesthetically, the Brondell S-1400 bidet toilet seat has added a few new design details that separate it from the Swash 1000, most notably the blue LED nightlight. This new LED nightlight has the perfect intensity to guide you to the toilet without the need for turning on those pesky lights in the middle of the night. The night light is photo sensitive and can be set to only activate when lighting conditions in your bathroom are dark.
The Brondell Swash 1400 bidet also has a redesigned overall look. The S-1400 sports a newly contoured lid for a more modern appeal. The angles are a little sharper and the profile slimmer giving it a more svelte look compared the rounder Swash 1000 model. To accompany this new slimmer look, Brondell has also redesigned the Swash 1400’s remote control to be thinner. The new remote seems to be at least 30% thinner and roughly 100% better looking.
Another major change is the relocation of the power cord from the right side to the left side (when facing the toilet). Brondell moved the power cord on the Swash 1400 over to the same side as the water supply inlet. They created a “hidden pocket” for these two connections, allowing for a superior slim line look.
Another way Brondell has separated the Swash 1400 from the Swash 1000 is by adding a removeable deodorizer cartridge. With the Swash 1000, the deodorizer was a built-in catalytic deodorizer that would sometimes lose efficiency over the years. With no way to easily replace it, users were out of luck. With the Brondell Swash 1400’s new replaceable deodorizer cartridge, it can be replaced with a simple pull of the deodorizer tray. An easy DIY that makes the Brondell Swash 1400 bidet seat that much more user friendly.
Functionality
In terms of functionality, the Brondell S-1400 has a handful of changes over the Brondell S-1000. These upgraded performance changes include two programmable user settings, a one-touch auto wash/dry function, and an extended nozzle length for the feminine spray.
The Swash 1000 had some shortcomings in the area of user friendliness. It was limited to only remembering the settings of the last user, while some settings like nozzle position and spray pressure would actually reset to default after long period of non-use. That has now changed with the Brondell Swash 1400 and its ability to save 2 user presets. The user presets are a great way to quickly bring up your preferred settings without having to press too many buttons each time you want to cleanse. It makes using the Brondell 1400 more of a pleasure on the butt rather than a pain.
The one-touch auto wash/dry function is another convenience function that few other models have. The one-touch button will complete a full wash cycle, stop, and then complete a full dry cycle without the need of any further button pressing.
Lastly, and what we found most important, is the extended nozzle of the front feminine spray. With the Brondell Swash 1000, there was a common complaint from some women that the feminine wash did not reach far enough forward to effectively cleanse their lady parts. Brondell heard this concern and decided that it was a pressing matter for their new design. Now the Swash 1400 presents a nozzle that is more accessible for women’s comfort more than ever before, while still holding onto its delicate and comforting spray.
