Bio Bidet BB-1000 Supreme Bidet Seat w/ Remote
- Product Review (submitted on October 26, 2014):
I reviewed our purchase of this 2 months afterwards. It's now been 6 months and I have a bit more experience with it.
It's still functioning perfectly - we did have an odd burp with it for a time. I would come into the restroom and see the power light flashing. When used, the water would be cold. I called the company and they suggested we power cycle it. I did and while it did happen one more time after that, that was it. It now works perfectly again. I'd like to note that we also live in the mountains, so brownouts and flickering power aren't uncommon and it's entirely possible this was the cause.
The next thing is I have come to regret getting a unit that you can't sit on the top of the lid. I don't know why it was necessary for them to do it this way, but I don't care for it. It's not a deal breaker for us, but it is inconvenient.
And the last issue I've come to notice is that for some reason the seat itself has a seam all along the inside and outside. Unless you pay good attention to how you clean it, splashes can build up. Since I noticed and have adjusted the way I clean it, it's not a problem, BUT it was still not a great fabrication decision, imo.
In summary, we still absolutely love it. It's TONS better to have a seat on the normal toilet than it is to have a separate, 2nd appliance in the bathroom. You don't have to "clean up" enough to make it over to the 2nd appliance and not worry about *ahem* drippage or such. You don't have to have a huge bathroom in order to have room for a separate appliance, and of course you don't have an additional large appliance you have to clean. Big huge plusses, imo.
Having a unit with a remote control is also a major, huge plus. If you have this type of product because of body size or medical needs, the remote control is fantastic. It does have a couple of basic on/off buttons on the side of the unit itself for emergency, as in the batteries die suddenly or perhaps a child damages the remote, and those 2 buttons are easy to remember and reach if needed.
So I continue my happy dance at having this product, and hope my info helps you decide on the right choice for you.
