I waited four months before passing any judgement on this product. I feel that four months is a good break in period.Rating
My observations:
-Installation was a breeze: All the hardware parts were included in the box. Mounting bolts, guides, cone packing, spanner, metal T-valve, conversion nut, and two hose. I did not need to search for any parts at Home Depot.
-I prefer very lukewarm water that I would say is close to room temperature. I find it more refreshing than warm water. This bidet allows temperature control so I am able to adjust the water temperature the way I want it.
-The remote takes a little getting used to but overall it is pretty straightforward. Anything that isn’t straightforward is in the owner’s manual.
-The water spray at first can sting but by adjusting the pressure and position, it becomes the most useful gadget in the house. I’ll be the first to admit that my diet isn’t ideal- it is the typical American diet that leads to a lot of constipation so I don’t have consistently healthy bowel movements. The “precision” of the water spray relieves blockage and does most of the work for me. This is a vital feature.
-The warm seat is a treat regardless of the weather outside. A cold toilet seat is unpleasant in both winter and summer.
-The slow closing lid seemed kind of frivolous but bacteria sprays out if you flush the toilet with an open lid so all you have to do is just tap the lid down and it will close gently on its own. Because of this feature, I have accidentally slammed a number of toilet lids when visiting friends and family.
Overall, I am genuinely pleased. I was very surprised to learn that mankind invented bidets centuries ago because it seems like a new discovery.
I am very happy with the BB-400. I purchased this because my wife is allergic to most toilet paper and this is great for her. I use it too and am amazed at how clean you feel after using it. I wonder why the people in the US never adopted this. I guess that one thing that would be nice is if it saved all of your settings after a power failure. This is a great thing and I hope to enjoy it for many years. (Posted on 1/29/13)
